GameSetWatch has a list of the 99 "best" free games of 2009. Some good things, alot that have already been seen, all in all a good way to pass the time as you stare at a glowing square and wait for the game developers of the future to create a way to pipe these things straight into your brain (oh I can't wait to play Tony Hawk 43 with my mind!.)
